萌妹社区 System President Tim Wolfe provided an update on Title IX efforts during the Board of Curators meeting held February 5, 2015. The update marked approximately one year since the university began a comprehensive, systemwide effort to examine and improve how the campus community addresses the challenging, societal issues of sexual misconduct. Wolfe took the opportunity to detail every initiative the university has adopted in the past year aimed at strengthening Title IX processes and how the university prioritizes the safety and security of all students, faculty and staff. Among the year-long initiatives highlighted were a campus inventory and assessment of current resources, the issuing Executive Order 40, the creation of a central website for Title IX information, and systemwide training for mandated reporters.
Following the update, the Board of Curators adopted two new Collected Rules and Regulations: 600.040 Equity Resolution Process for Resolving Complaints of Harassment, Sexual Misconduct and other Forms of Discrimination against a Faculty Member, and 600.050 Equity Resolution Process for Resolving Complaints of Harassment, Sexual Misconduct and other Forms of Discrimination against a Staff Member.
“The policy changes we have adopted in the past year have only come through a partnership with faculty, staff, students, consultants and other campus leaders,” Wolfe said. “I sincerely believe the 萌妹社区 is now ahead of most universities in this vital area and ever closer to our goal of being seen as a national model by our peers of how we address sexual misconduct and Title IX compliance.”
